Since the last time I wrote on this blog we've had more adventures. We failed to get into Canada to go to the Mission Divisional. It was a bummer but at least it wasn't that far from home. A couple of weeks later we drove to Spokane for their Divisional. It was windy, cold, and somewhat rainy but they still managed to get the race off. The race track at Spokane is right next to an Indian gaming casino with a hotel. We rented a couple of rooms so we could all have showers but most of us spent the night in our enclosed trailer and the RV. Our friends from Wagons of Steel North made the trip down from Nelson BC so we had a full crew. Brutus ran well. He was again the fastest H/SA car in the field, qualifying 14th out of 35. Not bad!
When we got back I had to finish off my business as best I could then pack up and head to Texas for a big party that my wife's family was hosting at the homestead in hill country. After twenty years of blissful marriage I love her family like my own but I have to say that all the people that I met in Texas were very nice. The problem for me with the Lone Star State is that it is hotter than the gates of hell. We've had a really gross winter up here, it's just lingered on and on, never getting above sixty five degrees but I would take it any day compared to that inferno! I'll never complain about our weather again!
Now I'm back, swamped with work and getting ready for the second half of the season. In my absence the crew brought Brutus to Bremerton Raceway and ran an 11.49 pass, the fastest ever. He's really flying, .25 off the H/SA National Record! Our next event will be the Divisional at Woodburn Raceway on July 15-17. One week later it's the Divisional in Sonoma, California. Two weeks after that we'll be at the NW Nationals in Seattle.
