WE'RE IN IT TO WIN IT BABY!

It was a perfect day for drag racing when Matt and I brought the Savoy out to the track on our trusty open trailer. Towing with a cool car on an open trailer is always fun on a nice day, especially on a short tow to the local track. Since we had a choice we selected a different pit area than we got for the earlier National Event, right off the main road to the staging lanes.

Matt and I showed up before Mark, who was towing the big enclosed trailer of Brutus, the golf cart, the generator, and a bunch of tools. We unloaded and decided to take a hit. Why not? I admit I was nervous. I totally trusted the car but I was nervous.

The test and tune environment was very comfortable and it was easy to get to the burn off box, where Matt guided me through a flawless burn off. I ran my first test and tune run "unopposed". I could tell right away that Dr. Big Block had us back on track, Jack! I ran an 11.03 @ 121 mph. We've gone/will go much faster of course but it was a great run for my humble ass. Two hits later I had it down to 10.96 @ 121 mph.

Tomorrow Dr. Big Block comes to the track and we qualify for Saturday eliminations. Stay tuned.
